Supporting Sustainability This Earth Day

As Earth Day approaches, sustainability continues to be a growing focus across the logistics industry. At Fetch Freight, we see environmental responsibility as an important part of supporting our customers, carriers, and our communities.

As an EPA SmartWay partner, Fetch Freight tracks and reports transportation performance to help improve fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact across the supply chain. Since its launch in 2004, the SmartWay program has helped the transportation industry save more than 357 million barrels of oil and prevent 152 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

“Our goal is to provide our partners with the insights and tools they need to prioritize sustainability within their business operations,” says Mitchell Lewis, Founder & President of Fetch Freight. “We’re here to guide and support them every step of the way, helping them make choices that strengthen their business while advancing environmental responsibility.”

At Fetch Freight, we are committed to helping our partners move freight responsibly while maintaining the reliability and performance they depend on. For our Carrier partners, here’s how to become SmartWay certified, at no cost:

  • Visit the SmartWay Website to access program information and resources: https://www.epa.gov/smartway.
  • Complete the free online application to register as a SmartWay partner, selecting the carrier category that fits your business.
  • Submit data on your fuel consumption, mileage, and emissions through the SmartWay Carrier Tool, which tracks and calculates your environmental performance.
  • Meet or exceed SmartWay performance standards for fuel efficiency and emissions reductions. This includes maintaining accurate records and following reporting guidelines.
  • Receive SmartWay certification once your data is verified. You’ll be able to use the SmartWay logo and be listed as a certified partner. If your data doesn’t meet the standards, you’ll receive guidance on how to improve for future approval.
  • Re-certify annually by submitting updated performance data to maintain your SmartWay status and stay compliant with program requirements.
