July 12–18 marks Operation Safe Driver Week, a national initiative led by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance focuses on reducing unsafe driving practices across commercial motor vehicles and passenger vehicles.
Operation Safe Driver Week focuses on raising awareness around some of the leading causes of roadway incidents, including speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, improper lane changes, and seatbelt use. During this week, law enforcement increases efforts, which can lead to additional roadside inspections and stops. In some cases, that increased enforcement activity may temporarily take drivers off the road, creating tighter capacity conditions and potential delays.
For shippers, this is a good time to plan ahead where possible, stay closely aligned with carriers, and allow for flexibility in scheduling. Clear communication around pickup and delivery windows can help reduce disruption risk during periods of heightened enforcement activity.
At Fetch Freight, we value the partnerships that prioritize safety alongside performance. That combination allows us to stay proactive with capacity planning, support carriers through operational challenges, and help keep freight moving as reliably as possible. Let’s connect today to get a plan in place and avoid any potential delays.
